Mohaimenul Azam Khan Raiaan

Hello! 👋 I am a second-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Monash University, Australia, and a researcher at the NativeBee+ Tech Facility Lab. I am supervised by Professor Alan Dorin, Associate Professor Ehsan Abbasnejad, and Dr Vanessa Kellermann. My Ph.D. research focuses on computer vision for the behavioural analysis of bees, particularly the development of algorithms for 3D reconstruction, modelling, and quantitative analysis of flight behaviour. I also work as an Academic Tutor in the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, where I teach final-year students working on team-based software and data science projects.

Previously, I worked as a Consultant-Research Assistant (Remote) at Charles Darwin University, Australia, contributing to academic and industry projects in computer vision and machine learning. More broadly, I am interested in developing computational models that can understand the world through visual information, sometimes alongside other modalities such as text and audio, with minimal human supervision.

I also enjoy contributing to the research community by mentoring researchers from Bangladesh through the AAIINS Lab. I host The Half Hour Hustle | Raiaan (calendar link) every Friday, providing an open space for conversations about research, ideas, and collaboration.

Outside research and teaching, I enjoy playing tennis 🎾, following different sports ⚽, watching movies and TV series 🎬, and travelling whenever I get the chance ✈️🌏.
